Party Speakers for Every Day
Music is a big part of quality hosting. I think most people know this. It is rare to be at a get-together and there isn’t music. But what do you play it on? There are tons of great options and at the end of the day, no one leaves your party and says “that was a great speaker they were playing their music on.” Ok, maybe some do. But that’s weird.
After having everything from a JBL to Bose speakers to playing music through my LG soundbar for my TV or just opening up the computer and using those speakers — I am fully on board with Sonos. You have probably heard of it. Maybe a friend has it. But it is by far (IMO) the best mix of sound quality, functionality and features that I have experienced. And you can control it all from your phone.
They aren’t cheap, but there are more expensive options out there. However, you get the bang for your buck. This is not some expensive speaker I pull out a few times a year for a party. I use these daily to have music on around the house. I have three speakers — one in the dining room (center of the house), one in my home office now that I am in there all the time and my newly purchased Sonos Move — their portable and weatherproof option that I use outside — and sometimes in the kitchen or somewhere I don’t have one of my others.
This blog isn’t simply just for product reviews. Yes this speaker will enhance your get-togethers, but the real hack here is that since you can control easily from the app on your phone, you can be schmoozing from room to room but can always easily skip a song, change the volume or even play different songs on each speaker (if you have multiple speakers) while you are on the go.
Go to their site for more info. I don’t want to do a product rundown on here for everything they have. But check them out. And my recommendation if you’re asking “Hey Party Hack? If I want to just get one, which one would you get?” My answer would be the Sonos Move. You can use it outside. It’s portable. And when not outside, you can keep it on it’s charging base and just use it in your home like a normal speaker for everyday music.
