Recipe: The Nutty Carrot

A drink for fall — maybe even a Thanksgiving Day drink. Either way, you are getting your vitamin A.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. walnut liqueur
3/4 oz. carrot juice (bottled)
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. Demerara syrup (see below for note)
3 dashes Angostura bitters
Instructions:
Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice
Strain into a coupe glass
To make Demerara syrup:
Bring 8 oz. water, 1/2 cup white granulated sugar and 1/2 cup Demerara sugar (Not brown sugar. Not Turbinado) to a boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
