Raise Your Glass(ware)

Another simple way to take your bar and entertaining to the next level is to have glassware that goes beyond the pint glasses and wine glasses. We can really get in the weeds on this one, but I will recommend you look to expand your glassware collection by two items.

This first one you may already have - a rocks glass. Great for old fashioneds but also can be used for margaritas and any other cocktail you make that has ice. You can find these all over, but go ahead and start at Crate & Barrel. Their Hatch rocks glass looks super fancy, but won’t break the bank. $5 per glass!  And they sell shot glasses to match:)

The second one I will recommend is a coupe glass. You’ve seen them - probably drinking a Manhattan out of one or an interesting cocktail you decided to try at your local upscale watering hole. Most cocktails you would serve “up”, would come in a coupe. Get one that is around 5.5 to 6 oz. You don’t want a giant goblet, but you want a glass that holds the typical 4-5 oz. cocktail with some room to spare. I like to have more fun with these - they have these at places like Crate & Barrel, but I get mine at local spots such as Intoxicology here in St. Louis.

And from someone like me who likes to have full sets of things, these glasses you can mix and match styles. And it is actually something your guests will notice...in a good way.
